new year na! new blog pa!
sigh. i try not to be superstitious, but i seriously hope how i spent new years is not how 2006 will turn out to be. staying up late just to pack. eating lots of food (tho that's not necessarily a bad thing). still more eating (and gaining pounds). saying goodbye and being parted from loved ones. ye, the last one really sucked. actually, it still does.
but let's not linger on the bad stuff. fun things happened during my Christmas break. wrestled big-time with my siblings. was able to visit the wonderful Sephora (reminder, always have your close gal pals with you less you get lost in all the beautiful and overwhelming cosmetic choices). got to spend the holidays with my sister-in-law's family for the first time (riot talaga! haha! sorry to rg!!
walang lutong makaw, no!). lots of presents given with overflowing love. the kulitans. the kanchawans and jingles.
also, just got back from las vegas. it's a very... lit up place. haha, my apologies, it is a very obvious and dull way to describe the place. but really, what is it anyway? remove the shows, and its nothing more than a big grand mall that forces you to spend, spend, spend. a mall equipped with visual commodities in the form of buxom ladies (or men) and lots of green cash. nevertheless, it really does have its appealing attractions (like the dancing fountains at bellagio). and it has its lessons, too! presenting....
10 things i learned in Las Vegas1. it's only when you DON'T have an ID that you get asked by security abt your age (arrgh, the irony!)
2. always have a decent (read: classy) change of clothes ready in case you visit swanky Bellagio
3. be prepared to eat... A LOT (dang buffets!). that said, do not fret since you should be prepared to walk... A LOT
4. don't expect to see the shows you liked before. they are not gonna be the same.
5. there will ALWAYS be photo-op moments (hence, the following are must-have items in your purse: dig-cam, batteries, willing models/subjects, makeup)
6. if you're not the gambling or drinking type, always try to make room to visit Circus Circus. kiddie games galore!
7. its best to have sober men in your company to protect you against drunk unwanted buffoons
8. driving is a pain at 9pm, with all the cars are out as well. better to do it past 1am, wherein everybody is presumably drunk on the streets or bars, leaving the streets open.
9. to avoid maximum spending, have a generous relative accomodate your lodging expenses (thanks, tita paula!).
10. unless you're REALLY the lucky type, don't expect to win significantly at slot machines.
hehe. corny! pero all in all, the las vegas trip was a blast. of course, any place is enjoyable as long as you have your loved ones with you. awww, warm mushy feelings just swelling up in me...
btw, thanks to my lovely sis for making the layout for me (praising her is my way of getting out of the "labor fee" i supposedly owe her).
